I remember the days of paying 15p a pint at my local so seems mental, still I'm teetotal these days so a pint of bothered from me.

£3.50 a pint is toppy here. Unless you drink gay monkeypox lager.

Drinking a lovely drop of Eton Boatman at £2.19 a pint in Ruislip Manor Wetherspoons.
Well kept and as good as anything served up in the city or West End only £3 cheaper.
Most spoons hit and miss with there ales but find a good one and your quids in.

The Counting House on Cornhil advertises a Pie and a Pint for £17. Paid £4.40 and £4.50 for Korev and Madri last week in a bar in Barnstaple.

In most of the Paris Brasseries 9.5 euro a 50cl is normal. Unless you drink that absolute shit Kronenbourg at 7.50 euro.

Haven't paid over 6 quid for a pint in my entire life in Britain, though that's because i won't be seen dead in the sort of poncey places that charge extortionate amounts for beer.
If I ever want to be ripped off, I visit my mate in Norway.

If I'm in a classy joint in a cool part of a city then I don't mind paying 8 quid for 50cl. So just under a pint.
But Ambience is important to me and I wouldn't be see dead in a shit hole like Wetherspoons. Also I'm on a 6 figure salary so I'm not that bothered by price.

When I split up with my ex, I moved into a flat in goodmayes just off the high St. Bloke next door was a retired hindu car dealer, lovely bloke who tried to adopt me.
He invited me for barbecues and out with his mates (most in their 70s) for dinner. They took me to a muslim deli restaurant that looked like a greasy spoon. You picked your dish and they re-heated it in a frying pan with some fresh naan.
The waiter brought a huge menu for each of our little tables and glasses, the hindu and sikh lads then whipped out their whiskey bottles and we ate and got pissed without offending our muslim brothers.
The food was fantastic and about a fiver a head.

my local "bring your own alcohol" curry house is fast becoming the 'pub' of choice for me.
They let us take our time there and over 2 or 3 hours, 4 or 5 large bottles with popadoms, a starter and main with rice/naan will cost less than £30.
